What is the maximum stroke for a pneumatic cylinder?

We manufacture cylinders in the range of standard strokes from 1 to 3000 mm.

Can I order a cylinder with a stroke other than available in your online store?

How can I adjust the speed of movement of the pneumatic cylinder?
  1. By using a throttle valve type C screwed directly into the cylinder connection.
  2. By using a throttle valve type V screwed directly into the distributor valve connection.
  3. By using a throttle valve mounted on the air supply line to the cylinder chamber.
  4. By using noise dampers with adjustable outflow, screwed into the venting outlet of the distributor valve.
What is the maximum operating temperature for a pneumatic cylinder?

Cylinders manufactured by CPP PREMA S.A. can work standardly in ambient temperatures from -20 to +80 deg C. This range can be increased to +150 deg C after using VITON seals. Devices for working at elevated ambient temperature have the symbol “T” at the end of the catalog number (eg 11.016G.0150AT)

What is a rodless cylinder?

It is a type of pneumatic cylinder in which the force is transmitted using a carriage moving along the sleeve. The connection between the carriage and the piston can be realized mechanically, magnetically, or by a tendon. It achieves higher speeds of movement than linear cylinders. When using rodless cylinders, attention should be paid to the size of the moments of force causing damage to the moving element.

There is a lot of dust and/or high humidity in my plant. What cylinders should I use?

In such cases, two solutions can be applied (separately or jointly). You can install cylinders with dedicated shields on the pistons to protect the seals and the piston itself from the negative influence of the environment. You can use SSI series cylinders with an additional scraper protecting the piston seal.

Do you regenerate cylinders/valves from other manufacturers?

We do not regenerate pneumatic or power hydraulic units  produced by other companies.

Which valve should I choose for a cylinder with a given diameter?

What is the difference between a 5/2 valve and a 5/3 valve?

The designations 2/2, 3/2, 4/2, 4/3, 5/2, 5/3, etc. indicate the function of the valve. The first digit corresponds to the number of input/output paths while the second indicates the number of positions of the flow control element. For example, 5/3 means that there are five paths (supply, two receivers, and two vents) and three slider positions (left, right, and middle). Each slider position connects different inputs/outputs thus redirecting the compressed air stream. More on this topic can be found in the educational materials section

What do the letters A, B, P mean at the valve supply holes?

These are valve path marks showing the direction of air flow.

Currently, numerical gauge is used. However, you can still come across the old nomenclature in which letters were used.

How many valves can I supply from one valve island?

We recommend:

  1. Up to 8 valves on one island with power supplied to one side of the island.
  2. Up to 12 valves on one island with power supplied to both sides of the island.
What wire diameter should I use in my application?

We recommend:

  1. Up to 8 valves on one island with power supplied to one side of the island.

Is it necessary to install a compressed air lubricator in my machine?

First of all, you should check the technical and operational documentation of the machine. Cylinders and distributor valves produced by CPP PREMA S.A. have a solid lubricant applied to increase their durability and reliability, so they do not require additional oil mist lubrication. There are situations that force the medium to be oiled. For example, when the system requires very fast movement or very frequent valve switching. Sometimes the use of a lubricator is required by other devices installed on the same air line. Remember that if the device is once powered with oiled air, then oiling should always be applied. This is because the solid lubricant applied during the production process is washed out by the oil from the lubricator.

How to remotely check the pressure in the system? What is a pneumoelectric relay?

The simplest way is to connect a pneumoelectric relay. Its task is to convert a pneumatic signal into a stepwise electric signal. It reacts to changes in the value of compressed air pressure.

Depending on the way of connecting the electric contacts, the relay can work in two ways:
– closes the contacts when the pressure value reaches or exceeds the set value;
– opens the contacts when the pressure value reaches or exceeds the set value.

What kind of hoses should I use in my machine: polyurethane or reinforced?

It depends on environmental parameters and working conditions such as installation pressure or external temperature.
Until recently, the most commonly used were hoses made of polyethylene PE. Currently, thanks to better strength properties, polyurethane hoses PU are commonly used.
This material is softer and more elastic, which makes it lay better and has a smaller bending radius.
Polyamide hoses have the best resistance among flexible hoses.
However, in cases requiring very high resistance to trauma, copper pipes are used.

Yes. For most products manufactured by CPP PREMA S.A., it is possible to buy repair kits. They include seals and easily replaceable elements that may wear out during normal operation.
