A schematic symbol is not a product photo. It describes the component function: valve ports and positions, type of actuation, flow direction, adjustability, exhaust method or actuator motion. This helps you move from machine documentation to the right product category faster.
When reading a cylinder symbol, check whether the actuator is single-acting or double-acting, whether it has a rod on one or both sides, whether cushioning is shown and whether non-contact piston position sensing is included.
Designations such as 3/2, 4/2, 5/2 or 5/3 describe the number of ports and positions. Additional symbols indicate manual, mechanical, pneumatic or solenoid actuation.
Filters, regulators, lubricators, pressure gauges and pressure switches help control medium quality and system parameters. An FRL unit combines several functions in one block.
The catalogue is based on CPP PREMA materials and links to related store categories. If you know the symbol from technical documentation, use the page search to find the matching component type.
Short answers to help you move from a schematic symbol to the right pneumatic component.
Use the search field and type “cylinder”, or select the energy converters and actuators group. You will find single-acting, double-acting, double-rod, tandem, telescopic and rodless cylinder symbols.
The first number indicates the number of ports and the second number indicates the number of positions. A 3/2 valve has three ports and two positions, while a 5/2 valve has five ports and two positions.
Go to the “Check valve” card, read the function description and use the product link to open the CPP PREMA check valve category.
This catalogue shows air preparation symbols such as filters, regulators, lubricators, pressure gauges and FRL units. Air dryers are related air treatment products, so the page links to the dryer category.
