ATEX certification and safety
CPP PREMA mining products are intended for zones where an explosive atmosphere may occur due to methane and/or coal dust. For this reason, they are designed, manufactured and certified in accordance with the ATEX Directive.

Category M2 means equipment that is de-energised when an explosive atmosphere occurs. Category M1 means equipment that may continue operating in the presence of such an atmosphere, providing a higher level of safety.
Where do our mining products operate?
CPP PREMA components operate in underground mines and in parts of surface installations where methane and/or coal dust explosion hazards may occur. These environments leave no room for failure. Reliable operation, durability and repeatability are critical under dust, moisture, variable temperature and intensive duty-cycle conditions.

ATEX pneumatic actuators and piston plungers
ISO 6431 actuators (SSIG)
D32-D320, double-acting, maximum working pressure up to 1.0 MPa, standard strokes 5-500 mm, with longer strokes available on request. Acid-resistant versions, chrome-plated or chrome-nickel coated piston rods, PU and VITON seals.
CNOMO actuators (SCNG)
D32-D200, double-acting, available in the same material class and special designs as the ISO series - for installation according to the CNOMO standard.
Pneumatic piston plungers
D140-D200 pneumatic piston plungers for moving mine cars on tracks in mines. The stroke is selected according to customer requirements. We manufacture designs with very long strokes.
Special designs
Modified stroke, stainless or acid-resistant piston rod, stronger magnet for sensors, additional anti-corrosion protection, fork ends and yokes.
ATEX valves and air preparation
DTMG / DTPG diverter valves
Mechanically controlled valves with lever, pull-rod or roller operation, and pneumatically controlled valves. G1/8-G3/4 ports, 3/2, 5/2, 3/3 and 5/3 functions, pipe or plate mounting.
ATEG solenoid valves (Category M1)
Electromagnetically controlled valves with G1/2-G1 ports, 12 VDC power supply, available as single valves or in valve island configurations. The highest M1 safety category.
PZRG auxiliary valves
G1/8 valves operated by push-button, roller lever, knob or key - for control panels and local control stations.
Blocks, filters, lubricators and reduction valves
Compressed air preparation blocks, filters, lubricators, reduction valves, filter-reduction assemblies and filtration-lubrication assemblies with G1/2-G1 ports.
ATEX hydraulic cylinders (CHG series)
Double-acting hydraulic cylinders D25-D160, nominal pressure 16 MPa, operating temperature range -30 to +80 °C. They operate with mineral oils and fire-resistant fluids used in mining:
- HFC aqueous polymer solutions with a minimum water content of 35%,
- HFA oil-in-water emulsions,
- HFB water-in-oil emulsions.
The body is protected against corrosion, with corrosion category C5-I according to PN-EN ISO 12944. Various mounting options are available, including eye mounting, flange, feet, trunnions with yoke, and double-sided piston rod.

- Zone and category Specify whether the component will operate underground in a mine and define the required category: M2 or M1 for electromagnetically controlled components.
- Function and parameters Define the type of component: actuator, valve or block, as well as pressure, medium, diameter and stroke.
- Operating conditions Provide information on temperature, moisture, dust, environmental aggressiveness and duty-cycle intensity.

Yes. Mining products are certified by the KOMAG Institute of Mining Technology, Notified Body No. 1456, in accordance with ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU, quality assurance notification KOMAG 23 ATEX Q 0186. They belong to Group I, Category M2; ATEG electromagnetically controlled valves belong to Category M1.

Yes. We manufacture custom-engineered designs, including pneumatic actuators and piston plungers with very long strokes, adapted to a specific application. The stroke is selected according to customer requirements.
Can hydraulic cylinders operate with fire-resistant fluids?
Yes. D25-D160 hydraulic cylinders operate with mineral oils and fire-resistant fluids used in mining, including HFA, HFB and HFC fluids, at a nominal pressure of 16 MPa.
What data should be sent for quotation?
Send a drawing, sample or photo of the component, operating parameters such as pressure, medium, diameter and stroke, the required ATEX category and the mounting method. On this basis, we prepare documentation and assign a catalogue number.
